This virtual event focuses on what COVID-19 has revealed about our food system, and what we can do to make it better. Based on a special edition of the Ideas section, deputy opinion editor Brian Bergstein will talk with three notable guests about the changes taking place in farms, restaurants, food banks and our kitchens. What will it take for our food system to be healthier, more equitable and more resilient?
At Little Leaf Farms, we are transforming the way food is grown by delivering the freshest, best tasting baby greens to salad lovers all year round. Our greenhouse is based in Devens, Massachusetts, allowing us to deliver our lettuce to east coast stores within a day of harvest. This is a big difference from the majority of lettuce that is grown on the West Coast, which spends a week traveling by truck to our local stores. In addition, we have carefully developed sustainable growing practices into our greenhouse to protect our planet.
